mellowthanksfindplease, and why one must lower expectations before seeing movies

Wow, this is much easier on a computer. I mean, seriously! There’s something about posting a series of nonsensical bullshit on a real keyboard that smartphones just can’t replicate. Vice versa when it comes to reading the posts. Whereas I can’t stand reading posts on a computer, I find myself bored at times, so I check out who’s sleeping with who on tumblr.

Have you missed me, tumblr? Ah, I doubt it. Frankly, I haven’t missed you too much, either. Yet here I am, at that weird space of time between taking a shower and actually getting ready for/going to work, and I thought, hey why not?

Anyways, so much boring shit has changed in my life that it’s not even worth mentioning, because it’s boring. Get it? I WILL say this, though! Can anybody tell me where in the name of Charlie Brown I can find this movie??

Target, Wal-Mart, Half Price Books; none of them carry this flick. It’s written/directed by/starring Josh Randor, whom most of you earthworms may know as Ted on How I Met Your Mother. Although it looks too indie for my tastes (God knows all we need is another lukewarm, color-by-numbers indie flick) I’m gonna have to nab this off of Amazon. See, I get that it’s gotten ‘good’ to ‘eh’ reviews, so I’m leaning on the ‘eh’ ones. That way, my expectations aren’t too high, and when I see it I go, “Hey! That movie was better than those assholes said!”

Another great example of lowering expectations was the awesome and brilliant film Synecdoche, New York. Rodger Ebert called this one the best film of the 2000’s, yet when I first picked it up, I only concentrated on the negative reviews, most of which complained that the film was too intellectual (like that’s a bad thing these days. No, give us more fucking Twilight, instead. Puh-lease). Needless to say, when I first watched it, Synecdoche, New York became an instant classic in my eyes. It was deep, and requires two to seventy eight viewings before it can fully be understood.

In other news, I’ve been pounding away at a unique movie idea. Seeing as my job comes with numerous amounts of downtime, I’ve been fleshing it out. It’ll be an easy and cheap film to make, so I’m pretty excited. Still, I’m keeping it close to the chest as of now, as I don’t want to jinx anything.

Until next time, adieu, folks.

Nick Sharafinski

One last thing… My Conversations with Woody Allen bio shipped from an Amazon seller two days ago. How much longer is this gonna take? maybe I’m just impatient. What else is new?

So take me home
Don’t leave me alone
I’m not that good,
But I’m not that bad.
